my-PV now compatible with Energy Depot
As of recently, all grid-connected my-PV products are compatible with the PRIMUS Energy Monitoring system from Energy Depot, offering open systems for maximum self-consumption.
The PRIMUS Energy Monitoring enables server-based monitoring of Energy Depot's inverters. PRIMUS reads the energy system's data and sends it, encrypted, to servers in Germany. Energy Depot’s energy management system is based on OpenEMS.
my-PV’s linearly controlled solutions for photovoltaic heating are now compatible with Energy Depot’s solutions, including inverters and battery storage. This compatibility allows performance measurement or surplus detection, which is measured by Energy Depot via PRIMUS, to be directly transmitted to a my-PV solution through the network, eliminating the need for additional surplus measurements. This helps customers avoid the need for duplicate smart meters and rely on the open system of my-PV.
Energy Depot, through PRIMUS Energy Monitoring and compatibility with my-PV, offers further solutions to maximize self-consumption. The seamless integration enables the smooth control of the heating element, maximizing the use of surplus electricity. Instead of feeding excess PV electricity into the grid, which typically receives a low tariff from network operators or subsidies, it becomes more economical to use the surplus energy for heating (e.g., domestic hot water, heating support, pool heating, etc.). This approach helps reduce reliance on other energy sources like wood, gas, or oil, saving money and increasing energy autonomy.
Which my-PV devices are included?
Newly compatible devices include my-PV products that generate heat from surplus electricity from photovoltaic systems. The AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, and AC•THOR 9s efficiently and continuously use surplus photovoltaic energy for heating. During the day, after prioritizing household consumption, a battery, or e-mobility, the system can produce hot water or support the heating system.
This results in even greater self-consumption, now enhanced by my-PV's open system and PRIMUS from Energy Depot.
